PlanB+anoying husband

this is not as much a question as a rant, Sorry it's so long. So I left my birth control pills at my parents house, they live a couple hours away and I went to visit yesterday. It was my husbands birth day last night so I let him finish in me, we usually use condoms. I wake up this morning at 8am only to find that I don't have my birth control pills. I kinda freaked out, I called my mom she found them and I got them and took my pill at like 5pm so I was nine hours late. I was freaking out at work all day before I got my pills and I went and got PlanB on my lunch break at noon. I know it says on the pamphlet that comes with my pills that you can miss a pill and still be protected but I figured better safe than sorry. My husband was such a jerk about it, he called me paranoid and said I wasted our hard earned money on PlanB (it's the holidays and money is kinda tight) but I am finishing up my degree in music education and I can not afford to get pregnant now. I think my actions were justified and I cannot figure out what is wrong with him he is usually not so insensitive?

I don't think you did anything wrong and I would have done the same thing! Spending money on Plan B would be MUCH cheaper than a baby! Like you said, you probably would not have gotten pregnant, but better to be safe. There is always a small chance when you miss a pill. He will get over it!

Re: PlanB+anoying husband

In my opinion you wasted money and added a large amount of hormones into your body (regular pill + emergency pill).

The chance of getting pregnant if you forgot to take 1 pill must be low enough for them to write that on the package. 2 skipped pills might still be alright, but they do need to keep that safety buffer in order to keep the lawsuits away.

I could be wrong though. Anyone here who does BC pill researches?

Re: PlanB+anoying husband

well they way I see it better safe than sorry, some women get pregnant on birth control with out missing pills at all though this is very rare. Im a very cautious nervous person. I always use condoms in combination with the pill(with the exception of that other night) So I think the PlanB was worth the stupid $60 just because I feel better and wont be worrying my head off. The pharmasist told me to take the PlanB with the regular birth control so it is safe to do, mostly because there is no estrogen in PlanB so there are no blood clotting issues associated with it. Anyway my husband got over it, I told him it's my body and my money so he dosen't really have a say in the matter.

Re: PlanB+anoying husband

You know, I think how YOU feel about it is most important. Like you said, it's YOUR body, so if you feel more relaxed now, then it's well worth your money. There's nothing worse than having to worry and not know about what will happen. Obviously we all have different opinions. In my experience, I know a lot of guys who disagree with females on this topic, but then again, they are not the ones getting pregnant. I know my boyfriend would probably WANT me to get the morning after pill if I felt like there was any chance of something going wrong... we're definitely not ready for kids! I agree that one missed pill is usually nothing to worry about, but like you said, better safe than sorry.
