Missed Birth Control Pills - Birth Control Message Board

Hi, i have been on yaz for almost a year now. i missed 2 pills over the weekend and have been bleeding heavily ever since. its almost been a week. am i supposed to just wait until it stops?

I assume you mean you took them as soon as you discovered you were late with them, and didn't completely miss them, right?

If you did that, and are back to taking your pills as normal, then you will just have to wait it out.

being that you missed 2 consecutive pills, you probably just gave your body enough time to stat your period again. You very well might have to ride this out until your next break in pills; however you could take a home pregnancy test to see what it shows. I would call my prescribing doctor and tell him the truth, ask what he wants you to do. He may say start a new pack when your peroid is done or star the first Sunday after your period. Hell probably tell you NOT TO MISS TWO pills again..that wasnt very conscientious of you! Try not to miss pills at all. try to stick to taking them at the same time each day EVERYDAY. Birthcontrol has to be viewd as any other medication should be.The entire purpose of b/c is for us not to get pregnant. ITs not that dificult to remember to take a pill for most of us, but if you re having issues remembering to do this, mayby you should consider another form of birth control which you dont have to think about . Implants might work for you, even the patch is only a weekly chnge- there are other optionswhich elminate mistakes.
