i just got assigned to yasmin.
i don't start till my next period.
i have two questions.

i am about 98lbs, and cup a size.
is this pill going to possibly going to help me gain weight?
and also what are the chances that this pill will POSSIBLY help my breast grow larger? is there a statistic, or anything?

and if MIGHT get larger, how long do you think it would possibly take?

As far as I know, there's no specific statistics as to a particular side effect, although some side effects are considered 'rare'. I think the weight gain/breast increase one is relatively common, though, but it doesn't happen to everyone. You also may have an increase in breast size but no weight gain elsewhere. This happened to me on Ovcon-35. I've never been on Yasmin before, by the way. I know this is a general answer and probably not what you wanted to hear, but the pill affects everyone differently. As far as when the breast increase side effect takes place, in my experience, it happens right away. Finally, I'm assuming you're taking the pill for its intended purposes (pregnancy prevention, regulate periods, etc). To take it simply for breast enhancement isn't a wise choice as there many other side effects of the pill that can be quite undesirable and even dangerous.

All birth control side effects really vary from person to person, so it's hard to say if you will or wont experience anything specific.

I was a Yasmin user and loved it for many reasons.. one of which was b/c I didn't gain weight. I wouldn't have minded if my breasts grew a bit (!), but they didn't. I know that Yasmin contains an ingredient that reduces water retention; which means no bloating during your period! But that could be one reason why there is no weight gain. That's just my own theory.

One thing to be ready for that is common for most birth control is getting nauseous after taking the pill. You can avoid that by eating a small snack before or right after taking your pill, or taking it before you go to bed.

The first week on Yasmin I had a constant headache. But that and the queasy stomach were my only negative side effects and both lasted no more than two weeks.

Yasmin is the only pill on the market right now containing 3.0 mg of drospirenone and 0.030 mg of ethinyl estradiol. (From what my doctor tells me, its the dropsirenone that makes the difference with this pill.) So if you want to gain some weight and this pill doesn't do it for you, then any other brand may have a better chance of giving you the results you want.

I did not gain any weight on Yasmin. Some people experience weight gain, but it is not common with Yasmin. However, I know MORE ladies who grew a cup size or so after being on the pill (different pills). I was still growing as I went on the pill, so it's hard to tell if it made any difference. My friend went from a B to a C cup and didn't gain weight... it probably happened within a couple months, so pretty quickly.
