IUD- Mirena, pregnancy possibility?
I've had the mirena for about 6 months. This month, my period didn't come. I think that might be normal, but then nausea and sore nipples came out of nowhere, sort of like my last pregnancy, (only pregnancy). I tested, it was negative. Do people get pregnant on this? I got it thinking it was foolproof. If you aren't getting periods though, how would you get pregnant on it? Does any one have a story or can explain?

Its rare to get pregnant on mirena but if you do you need to get the iud removed right away or it will make you miscarry. The hormones that mirena gives off can give you the tenderness of the breasts and other feelings of pregnancy. It is normal while on it to also miss periods. isnt it wonderful!! Just make sure that you can feel the strings so you know its in place. If you cant feel them, check with your gyno.
