condoms, spermicides, what to use- not on bc yet - Birth Control Message Board

I've been waiting to get my period so I can start my bc, which seems to be taking a while.. haha. BF and I were together last night, doing what we usually do, fooling around, genitals touching together, and he put on a condom just in case. Well we couldn't help ourselves.
He said it was spermicidal, but the Trojan (purple?) wrapper doesn't say spermicidal on it. It does not appear to have broken.
I'd like to continue with this, wondering if I should get some spermicide for next time to play safe. I saw contraceptive film, and this stuff that you put in 15 minutes beforehand and let dissolve. Assuming the condom was spermicidal, hopefully I wouldn't have a reaction to either.
If you were me, would you play it safe and wait until on birth control (probably another 2 weeks) or do spermicide and condom? I've done a search here but no specific answer for if spermicide AND condom are nearly just as affective.

It's up to you whether or not you want to wait the two weeks. Personally, I have always had sex being on the pill AND using condoms together. But you don't want to wait definitely use condoms. Spermicide will help with the effectiveness of the condoms since it kills any sperm that might get through the condom. So if you're not going to wait the two weeks do condoms and spermicide together just to play it safe.

so which spermicide is more effective? I'm assuming that all spermicides are safe to use with latex condoms?
