Bleeding for nearly 3 months straight on Yaz... - Birth Control Message Board

I am about half way through my 3rd pack of Yaz...and have bleeding almost non stop the entire time I have been on it. It did stop for 4 days while on the white pills of the 2nd pack. My ob/gyn keeps insisting I wait it out the full 3 months b/c the break through bleeding may stop...but this is driving me crazy. LOL I'm having bad cramping as well...and I'm pretty sure I'm anemic b/c I'm tired constantly. Has anyone else experienced this and had it stop? Please give me hope! LOL I was on Yasmin before this and had very heavy bleeding and cramping.

Hi i had a friend with this problem and her doctor kept telling her everything was fine, it was only when she collapsed due to weakness from bloodloss that the matter was taken seriously. She has to go to hospital and get a blood transfusion from the blood loss. I hope i don't scare you with that story but if i were you i'd get a second opinion because he doctor was usless!

I second that, get your iron tested! My gyno told me to just keep on taking pills regardless of the amount of heavy bleeding I told him I was experiencing, month after month. I quit anyway once I could barely stand up any more. It can take many, many months to recover, so don't let your iron levels drop to begin with.
