From Yaz to Nuvaring - Birth Control Message Board

I had taken Yaz for approximately 4 1/2 years. I stopped taking it just a couple of months ago in May. Due to insurance issues, I did not get back to the doctor until today. I never had any huge issues with Yaz, except for headaches. However, due to the fact that I am 36 years old and a smoker, he did not feel comfortable prescribing Yaz again. He suggested the Nuvaring.
My concern here is: Since being on no BC at all, during the last 3 weeks I have noticed significant hair loss and am seriously disturbed by this! After reading several posts, I'm pretty sure this is due to stopping the Yaz. Does anyone know if I start the Nuvaring, will this possibly slow the hair loss or is it just going to get worse???
I'm hoping I can control the possible weight gain, but how about the headaches? Will that continue as well?

why would stopping yaz make your hair fallout?
