Stopped birth control over month ago....still having side effects? - Birth Control Message Board

I stopped taking Yasmin a month and a half ago. I'm still peeing a lot. Does it take a while for the hormones to leave our system? Anyone experience this?

Hi--yes, it does take a long time for the hormones to leave. It's different for everyone, but for me it took about 6 months. I was on Yaz (similar to Yasmin) and I do think I was still peeing a lot that first month. Months 2 & 3 I had MAJOR depression and was very irritable, and it took the full six months to finally get my sex drive back (wahoo!). But it was worth it! I feel like myself again.

Thanks for your reply! It's almost at the end of the second month and I'm still peeing more than usual here and there, but it's better. I just want to get my period and be back to normal.
