Mirena users...questions please - Birth Control Message Board

Ok, I am having anxiety over my Mirena and I would really like some advice. I have had it in for 2 months now. First month I bled for a week. This month I had one day of spotting for my period. I have no other bleeding. 've had abdominal cramping off and on since getting it put in. I've had "pinching" pain in my cervix area though starting last week. I also checked the strings last week and they were longer than when I checked today. I posted a question, but didn't get any replies if that was normal, so I started surfing the web and read all the negative stories about Mirena. Now I'm scared that my uterus is perforated because of this pinching pain. If you can feel the strings, can you still have a perforation? Any good advice would be helpful as I made myself a raving lunatic now worrying. Thank you, Michelle

Just an update, I called my Dr. today and told her about the pinching pain and the strings being shorter, so she wants to see me Monday morning to make sure everything is still ok with my iud. I guess if she was really worried she would have gotten me in today? I'm still having off and on pinching/pelvic pain, but don't know if that is part of the normal 3-6 month adjustment process. It's different than the menstrual cramp feels. I would still love any advice if anyone else has been through this? I am so hoping everything will be ok, as the reason I got this was for heavy bleeding and it has completely stopped that, but worried about the pain and possible perforation.
