Tiny switch... still protected? - Birth Control Message Board

Hey!

My gyno has just allowed me to go back on BC after 9 months of being off of it... long story short, my blood pressure was a little high. I went on a low caffeine/low sodium diet (and sticking to it) and my blood pressure is perfect now!

I was on both OTC and OTC Lo in the past so she put me on OTC Lo almost 28 days ago... and now I remembered why I hated it: breakthrough bleeding, terrible cramps, mood swings, etc.

She called in regular OTC for me and I start in 2 days. Will I still be protected? Or should I wait a week. I know I should have asked my gyno, but it slipped my mind and her office is closed tomorrow (I start OTC over the weekend and I see my fiance, if you get me... lol).

I don't understand where you're at in your current pack. How much is left in your current pack? When are you on your placebo pills? You should start the new pack whenever you would have started a new pack of the old pills.

2 placebos left. I know to start the OTC when it is finished... but am I protected? Cause I am chanign from OTC Lo to regular OTC.

yes, you are protected,I switch all the time and my doctor told me your protected as long as you start the new pack when you would have started the old brand.
