Alesse and late period - Birth Control Message Board

I have just started talking Alesse-28. I started it november 9th and ended it nov 29th, like I was supposed to. However, it's been 6 days and I still don't have my period. I'm also stressing like crazy over it. I keep thinking I'm pregnant, which I really can't even imagine. I have had some cramps, and had a headache (which is usually my indicator that I'll get my period the next day), but nothing has happened. I'm just wondering if starting a new pill, especially Alesse, could cause my period to be late? Or if anyone has experienced this on Alesse?
I was previously on Yasmin, and during my period week it would take three or four days after finishing my pack of pills to get my period, but never six-seven.

I have been late a day or two on alesse., but have you tried a pregnancy test just to be sure? It could definetly be stress or maybe its the wrong pill, but i'd take a test to be sure.

Yeah, after three weeks I took a test and it was negative. So I went to see my doctor. She said that Alesse can cause some women to not have a period, and apparently I'm one of them. I wish I'd been told that, it would've saved a lot of stress, but thankfully I'm not pregnant and I'm trying yet another birth control.
I ended up getting my period 37 days late. I wasn't impressed at all.

Oh my I would be definetly stressed too! I hope you find a better birth control pill and that your doctor informs you more!
