I had sex while I was menstrating, during this week I do not take my birth control pills - it is my week off. I take my pills when I am supposed to everyday without forgetting but I am worried I may be pregnant. I was in the middle of my menstration week and after the sex my bleeding stopped.

you can still get pregnant even on your period...it just depends on when your ovulating....you really cant skip on birth control so you just have to wait it out and see what happens

If you're on the pill and had sex during your placebo week, then it's highly unlikely that you would get pregnant. Since the pill is supposed to stop ovulation, I highly doubt you'd be ovulating during your period. You don't ovulate while you're on your period anyway, whether on or off the pill. That just doesn't physically happen.

Sometimes after you have sex, it does make your period stop. That doesn't mean you're pregnant, not at all.

Unfortunately, strange things do happen. I worked with a women who gave birth to twins after having sex during her period. I have a 12 year old daughter who was conceived while I was on the pill. (I very faithfully took that pill everyday at the same time and never missed a day). Just be aware and keep the thought tucked in behind your head in case your start to maybe miss your period next month, maybe take a pregnancy test is about 10 days just to be sure. The odds are good that you are not pregnant, but as we all know to well--..it happens!!

Not only does the pill stop ovulation, but it creates a thicker cervix/mucous.....something like that so the sperm can't penetrate easily.
