I've had a Mirena IUC for about 3 1/2 years now with no problems. I've been really pleased with it, and surprised by the number of people who seem to have problems.

Here's my thing - the first time my husband and I had sex after it was inserted the strings poked him pretty badly. I went back and my doctor trimmed the strings shorter. I know they are extremely short, because I moved to a different town and changed doctors and he had trouble even finding them during my physical exam.

Fast forward to last week and during sex he tells me he is bumping against my IUD. How could this happen all of a sudden after more than 3 years with no issues? Now in addition to him feeling it, I'm sore and tender in my abdomen about where my uterus is positioned. Could my mirena be slipping?

Anyone with any ideas -
