3 BC pills = emergency contraception - Birth Control Message Board

I have been on birth control (faithfully) for 6 years. I recently ran out for 10 days, but I went to the gynocologist and I am now back on birth control.

I have been back on birth control for 1 1/2 months since then. But then I had unprotected sex. He did not ejaculate inside me. I took 3 birth control pills from a different brand for my emergency contraception. Then, the next day, I doubled up on my normal birth control pill and now I am back on schedule. I'm not due to start my period for another week, but I am wondering what my chances are of becoming pregnant?

And, is it true that 3 birth control pills is equivalent to the morning-after/plan B emergency contraception method?

I don't know of any brand where 3 pills would be the equivalent normal emergency contraceptive pills.

I'm not sure why you though it was necessary to take any though. If you'd been taking your pills for a month an half, why would you need to take anything extra?

For future reference, you probably shouldn't go taking some random amount of BC pills to use as ECP. Get a real prescription, or get the correct equivalent information from a doctor.
