effects of Loestrin 24 Fe - Birth Control Message Board

Hi, I have just started Loestrin 24 Fe on Sunday. I first did research on it for about a week because I was nervous starting my first birth control pill. I regret doing this. I have read so many horror stories and almost did not start the pill.

However, I've been completely fine. Now today is only the third day of the pill.
One thing that happened is my appetite increased. I currently have cream filled chocolate cupcakes and chocolate milk in my purse that I am fighting not to eat. I had to practicaly fight myself to not buying a random bag of chips today, after I just brought M&Ms. Now, I like my weight. I do not want to gain.

Any tips on how I can trick these cravings? Snack on something that maybe my body is craving? I have no idea. Besides that, no side effects. If I was going to get any, would they have started already? or does it take time for them to appear?

I have been taking Loestrin 24 Fe for about three months now and I noticed the same thing... my appetite has increased. Even when I'm not hungry, I constantly want to be chewing on something. Even though I can usually manage to make these snacks healthy, during the third week I crave sugar and refined carbs. It is a very tough to feel like you can't control your cravings, especially when you are a healthy, active person.

Loestrin also makes me excessively tired.

The good points are that it does not cause as much moodiness as others and it will make your boobs grow. I am switching from this BCP to Alesse next month.

So now its the end of my second week with this pill. I had breakthrough spotting that started wednesday. Along with random excessive tiredness that comes with grumpiness. Ill be sitting on my computer or at school and my eyes just start closing. I HAVE to sleep, even if its for 10 min. Also the outside of my vagina itches and no matter what I do it will not go away. I havent had sex yet so I know its not a disease and I never had this problem. I hope this goes away soon because Im getting really annoyed with these side effects.
