You normally would have a period 2-3 days after stopping the pill. I'd wait until you use up the pack and just quit then. It will be easier on your system to have a period at the normal time. Just explain that to him.

It would be better if you finished the pack, it could potentially mess things up for your wedding and longer (i.e. you could start your period or just end up spotting for ages until your period arrives or something else equally annoying). Would he want that? And more importantly, what do you want?

Re: getting married and wanna stop bc will i bleed right away?

I want to get off of the pill but I dont want to have the stress of worrying about my period on the night of the wedding, or cramps. I dont know maybe im just stressing out over nothing. I had normal peirods before starting birth control but they would last about 5-7 days. I do want to get off the pill really bad but the problem is Im to worried about what would happen.

thanks

If you quit it now and don't finish out the pack first, you most likely will have breakthrough bleeding right away and inevitably on your wedding day.

Absolutely, wait until the end of the cycle. You might be irregular for a long time if you don't. Just explain to your soon-to-be husband that it's safest for you to quit at the right time of the month.

Re: getting married and wanna stop bc will i bleed right away?

I know how you feel, because when I made the decision to quit, I still had like 2 weeks of active pills left. However, after extensive research on the subject, I realized it was for the best to finish out the pack before quitting. You would have less problems with lasting issues of spotting/breakthrough bleeding if you finish out the pack.

If you do a search here on the board about stopping the pill, you will see that all of the women who quit mid-pack had a whole host of bleeding problems because it sent their hormones into a tailspin. It's really for the best to finish out the pack.

I know you want to quit now, believe me, I remember vividly how much I hated taking that stupid pill! But I'm just letting you know that you will save yourself a lot of problems if you quit after your pack is done. Trust me, I KNOW what I'm talking about!!

Even if you want to get pregnant immediately, finishing out the month is still probably the best way to do it. There's a good chance you'd ovulate 2 weeks later. Stop mid-cycle, heaven alone knows when you'd ovulate next
