YAZ- 1st day ? - Birth Control Message Board

My daughter started her period on the 16th (sat) but we didn't get Yaz til the next week. She started on the following Sunday the 24th- is this OK? when will shew get her next period and when the 1st pack runs out you start back on the pink- is this correct?

she will get her period when she gets to the white pills (a day or two after that usually) she may even miss one (as it states in the packet)
She should have started on the sunday directly following the start of her period (the 17th) so for this month (if she is using Yaz for contraception - sorry I cant spell) Then she should use alternitive methods (a condom). She will be fine =)

thanks- so does it really matter that she started one week late- will it just screw up her period

the reason they say to start at that time is so the hormones have kicked in by the time you are ready to ovulate for that month. The only risk would be if one had sex in that week before they started the pill because they could get pregnant. Otherwise there is no harm physically to start it a week late other than it may throw her periods off for a month or two, which to be honest starting new birth control is likely going to throw her periods off anyways until she has adapted to them.
