Loestrin 24fe is the name brand pill that currently has the lowest available hormone dose available on the market at the present time.
Microgestin is a generic form of the regular dose LoestrinFe, which is slightly higher dose of hormones but is very frequently used as the generic for Loestrin24fe.
The patent for Loestrin24fe doesn't expire until July 2014, so you won't find any generics for it on the market before then.
I will tell you that when I was still on a combination pill, I stayed on microgestin the longest out of all the other pills I tried. For me, it had the fewest side effects of all the other generic combo pills.
