| Too-Early Period
Some background: I have been on birth control (Alesse/Aviane) since September 2007. In that time, I have miss 3 pills-- twice due to illness and once simply because I forgot. Until now, I have had no issues and no concerns. Even now, I'm fairly certain that I'm just being paranoid!
Onto the concern...
On Monday night, I was feeling sick and spent quite some time in the washroom on the toilet. This was around 11pm and I take my pill around 9pm. Tuesday I felt better, took my last pill in the pack for the month (yes, I know this is a strange cycle to have as a BCP user) and did not have any further stomach issues.
This afternoon (Wednesday, September 5, 2012), I went to the washroom between classes to discover that I had familiar early period blood/discharge present. Normally, I will not get my period for 1-4 days after my last pill, so this seems very, very early to me.
Being that I've been on the pill for so long and that I had a little bit of "tummy trouble", I'm thinking that it is possible that I got it so early because 1) my body has adapted to the cycle, 2) my pill from Monday night didn't digest properly and so my hormone levels dipped sooner than usual, even though I took a pill Tuesday night.
Does that seem like a pretty fair assessment? I pay very close attention to my body so I'm fairly confident that this is the case, but I'm wondering if other women have experienced similar scenarios?
