The horror stories that you have heard are rare. Unfortunatly you have access to the internet so EVERY bad story is at your fingertips. But think about this. If many women had this issue there would be not one taking it. Millions of women take it everday with no issues. I have been on different birth control methods. I had absolutley NO side effects with the pill. I tried the patch and the issue with that was I was allergic to the adhesive (I dont think they have the patch anymore i dont know) I am no longer on the pill, I have an IUD, but it wasnt from side effects. I have issues with memory and I cant remember to take my pill like I am supposed to. Stop looking to other people's experiences and talk to a professional. There are NUMEROUS types. You can talk with your doctor about your concerns and they can come up with something that works for you.

I have some bad news for you though. I am not 100% postitive on this but most dr will have to do an exam. I know that the reccomenations for annuals have changed so this may have as well. But face it. At one point you are going to have to get one. Its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Depending on your age however they may not have to. The only way to find the answers to your questions is going to be talking to a professional.
