Starting the process

Posted 06-28-2013 at 10:58 AM by Frumquist (GERD - Fundoplication surgery)

On 7/2/13 I’m going in for a Hybrid Hill/Nissen Fundoplication surgery. Supposedly this repair combines the best of both procedures. After way too many years of heartburn, cough, hoarseness, and regurgitation, all of the tests indicate a fundoplication is appropriate. Thought about the new Linx system but my doc has massive experience with fundoplications so I’m going that route. Also, Linx just seemed too new. Hopefully procedures and recovery experiences keep getting better...

Good morning all! I hope you all are healing well, and pain free.

Yesterday was a doozy, to say the least! I talked to my husband about my symptoms Tuesday night and decided I needed to talk to my neurosurgeon. So yesterday I had crazy amounts if anxiety every time I even thought of calling. Finally about lunch time I got the courage and called.

The person I was suppose to talk to answered the phone. So I explained that the doctor had given me instructions to call...

To have surgery or not, that's the question.

Good morning everyone. I was going to write last night, but yesterday was one of the harder days in dealing with my pain.

It started like any other day. I wake up and make coffee. While its brewing I take my pain medication and lay down on the couch, and wait for it to kick in. My neck pain isn't the worst pain I have ever felt but enough to worry me, and having me take meds for.

As the day went my hands, yes both, we're tingling. My hernieation is on the right side...

Part two my love hate relationship with pain

Posted 06-23-2013 at 08:25 PM by bshorter30

In march 2012 six years after my last broken ankle I sprained my ankle bad enough I thought it was broken, scared me to the core! All was well within a few days of ice and elevation. Well two weeks later while getting out of my car to put my kids on the bus, down I went, again. ( Are you seeing the theme of my life) Man oh man it sucked pretty bad. So later that day I called and made an appointment with my orthopedic doctor who had preformed my ankle surgery. He took X-rays and wiggled my foot...

My love hate relationship with pain

Part 1

My story begins in about 10 years ago. All my life I have " face planted" meaning my ankles have a mind of their own. They choose the most inopertune times to give out, and embarrass me to death. I like most people get up smile and say I'm fine. When in reality all I want to do is cry out in pain as I limp to the nearest bathroom , or my car.

Well 10 years ago I was pregnate with my oldest. Durning the whole time my hips killed me!All my doctors...
