Hello!

Today, is the first day of my journal. I plan on using this to help me articulate my thoughts, feelings and fears in reference to my disease. You see, I have severe COPD, and lung cancer. The cancer has been taken care of through surgery. I was blessed, it was stage 1A, so the cancer was removed by taking out two of my three right lobes. I do get CAT scans every three months for the next 2 years, just to be on the safe side.

My husband had emergency heart stent surgery on Feb 14, 2011 (he had a 75% blockage) On the chest xray before surgery they found a mass on his lung. After many tests, we found out he has stage 4 lung cancer and 2 brain tumors. Our life, as we knew it, just stopped. He has gone thru radiation for his brain tumors which are shrinking, thank God. But his lung cancer is hard to manage. He is now on Genzar Chemo which makes him very tired and sleeps a lot a couple of days after treatment. I am...

Daddy is oficially diagnosied with Lung Cancer

Posted 09-23-2011 at 12:49 PM by Joeygirl1104

Today, September 23, 2011, my daddy was diagnosed with lung cancer after a lung biospy Tuesday of this week.

We go Monday for a PET scan so the doctors can see if the cancer is confined to his lung area or if it has spread.

I am worried, scared, anxious and wondering how in the hell to prepare myself to tell the first person who ever loved me unconditionally, "goodbye".
