To think I didn't take any daily meds a couple years ago...

There have always been two medical mysteries in my life. Occasionally passing out, or coming close to passing out, and gnawing, burning stomach pain. Since my parents are adverse to institutionalized medicine, there was no help in my childhood. It never seemed severe, but these two problems would come and go and I never understood why.

Fast forward to two years ago, I was healthy on paper. No daily meds, no...

Life with gastroparesis

Hi

This is the first blog I have written. i have a contition called Gastroparesis or paralasis of the digestive system. It causes severe pain, nausea, severe vomiting,bloatibg,belching, malnutrition.
I have suffered from this since 2008. At first the hospitals said they didn't know what was wrong with me. I was told by one Dr that they may never find out what was wrong and I would just get worse until they would have to put an NG tuble in to feed me. I went home devastated...

Colonoscopy Preparation and Moviprep

After taking my first round of moviprep last night and actually gagging back my last sip of the dose, I panicked at the thought of having to have another round the next day (today). So, I read through about 4 pages of blogs on different sites and a few people mentioned lemons. I thought about how "back in the day" lemon did an amazing job clearing up the horrible taste of tequila, and thought, why not try it. So, I cut up a small lemon in quarters.
And had a small glass of coke(4oz)...

After much deliberation I decided to have this done. I went in on Thrusday am after completing the enema. I was awake the full surgury and actually enjoyed listening to the whole event. This made my post op recovery quick. Once the epideral wore off I did have quite a bit of pain. I was planning on going home after the procedure but my bladder had different plans. I was unable to pee for over 12 hours so I was straight cath every couple of hours. Once we were able to catch up with the pain management...
