Lisfranc 4/5/2013

Posted 05-03-2013 at 03:16 PM by mangzilla

Just thought I'd quickly update on what its like without the hardware in my foot.

I've only been back in a shoe for 2 days, but instantly it feels a lot nicer than walking around whilst the hardware was still in my foot. I am able to walk much more casually without limping and there is no awkwardness or slight pain in my foot.

I am hoping this isn't just a mental thing I have created in my own head because I feel that I can focus less on it now, but at this point its...

Posted 04-21-2013 at 01:36 PM by mangzilla

Hey everyone who's read my blog. So it has been 6 months since I had my Lisfranc injury and this past thursday I have finally had the hardware removed from my right foot.

It was mildly painful when I woke from the anaesthetic however it was nothing like the first surgery. I actually felt great when I awoke, 2 hours after the surgery I was out...

I have found some shoes that seem to work really well with my foot and also walking bare foot seems to be the most comfortable for me. My doctor suggested a walking or running shoe with strong arch support, but I have very flat feet as it is and I have found a low cut canvas shoe that is the most...

Posted 01-28-2013 at 08:36 AM by Newlyshiftfoot (Calcaneal Osteotomy)

A lot has happened since my last post. I was in the CAM boot for 3 weeks, continued to be non-weight bearing. As time went on, I would take the boot off more and tried touching my foot to the ground. The nerves would fire like crazy. After a week or so of doing that, the bottom of my foot felt normal. The last week of NWB i decided to try to put some weight while wearing the boot. Granted this is against doctors orders but I felt okay...after a few days I was basically walking in the boot. My most...

Lisfranc UPDATE 15/01/2013

Posted 01-14-2013 at 01:57 PM by mangzilla

So this week marks 6 weeks since my cast was removed and I have a check up at the end of this week. I believe they are going to book in when my screws will be removed very soon which is exciting!

As for where I am at, I am still wearing the space boot, however I have been walking without crutches for a couple of weeks now. Once I began using my foot a little the swelling went down quite a bit, and my foot generally felt a lot better. I have also started doing some Physio, only very...
