After much deliberation I decided to have this done. I went in on Thrusday am after completing the enema. I was awake the full surgury and actually enjoyed listening to the whole event. This made my post op recovery quick. Once the epideral wore off I did have quite a bit of pain. I was planning on going home after the procedure but my bladder had different plans. I was unable to pee for over 12 hours so I was straight cath every couple of hours. Once we were able to catch up with the pain management things went smoothly. I came home yesterday and have taken very few pain pills. I am sticking to a soft diet with lots of friuts. I find that I actually do better when I am up walking around then laying down for several hours straight. Overall I was quite surprised with this whole event. I was expecting the worse after reading many posts about the horrors. I had 2 hemrroids removed that were both internal and external. I am looking forward to being able to go back to work in a few days just not sitting down. I hope this helps others that are worried this will be a horriable experience. Even 2 days post op I am still glad I went through with this.
