My decades long struggle against Heart Failure, A-Fib, Sinusitis. Insulin-Resistance, Asthma, Immune Dysfunction
In order to survive my chronic, threatening and also deadly health problems, I have had to go "outside the box" and constantly experiment on different ways to cure, heal or, at least, lessen the nasty effects of my health problems.
It has been a torturous struggle having many health problems, each of which makes each of the health problems much worse.
This Blog contains posts describing the different things that I have done, or found, to ease the burden of all of these nasty diseases. | Posted 04-10-2010 at 01:59 AM by Machaon (My decades long struggle against Heart Failure, A-Fib, Sinusitis. Insulin-Resistance, Asthma, Immune Dysfunction)
I am near 70 and have had Congestive Heart Failure, Persistent Atrial Fibrillation, Chronic Tachycardia, Chronically High Blood Pressure, Immune System Dysfunction, Insulin Resistance, Pre-Diabetes, High Cholesterol, High Triglycerides and Asthma for over twenty years.
I have learned how to lower my blood pressure down to very healthy levels, reduce my heart rhythm problems, improve my heart failure, improve my Immune System/Neurohormonal System problems, get my Cholesterol and...

As I previously blogged: I tried a SLIT experiment, on Sunday, Feb 28th, with a different allergen. I got overconfident and, instead of starting out with a very small amount of allergen, I used a large amount.
The allergen caused me to have problems with Asthma, and Sinus Problems, and then led to Bronchitis and a Bronchial Infection!
It has taken me over a month to get back close to normal. I still have some sinus drainage down my throat, which...

I tried a SLIT experiment, last Sunday, Feb 28th, with a different allergen. But, unlike prior SLITs, where I would start with a tiny amount of the allergen, this time I started off with a fairly sizable amount.
Almost immediately I had labored breathing. I tried to stay with the experiment, but after just five minutes my breathing was getting difficult and my chest was getting tight. I stopped the SLIT experiment after just five minutes.
My breathing remained "labored"...

Oh my God!
Recently I've noticed a profound improvement in how my Asthma reacts to certain known allergens. Oh my God!
I had been casually remarking to my wife how I am able to tolerate two specific allergens, one for which I used At-Home SLIT experimental treatments, and one for which I hadn't. We just attributed it to my improving Heart Failure and overall health.
Well.... just a few minutes ago, I remembered that I had been doing the...

For all of 2010, and perhaps beyond, I intend to continue with my inexpensive (cost=ZERO), at-home SLIT allergy treatments for Asthma.
I have been significantly modifying my SLIT procedure, in several ways, and among the changes, not always placing the allergen/irritants under the tongue. I want to discover the method and process for SLIT that has the most significant impact at desensitizing my allergies and Asthma. The medical world is still experimenting with SLIT, but their progress...
