Over the Christmas holiday was not as hard as I expected but I had to get up a lot. I wasn't able to just lie in bed and watch tv. I also wanted to get out and have a change of scenery and see other people. I have 3 levels on my house and have fallen a few times while on crutches but luckily the falls were just on my knee and nothing on my bad foot. The cast is a bit uncomfortable at times and I feel my leg swelling and coming down when its elevated and not. The pain is pretty much gone, more of just some uncomfort once in a while. Between Christmas Eve and Christmas day, I only took two painpills and slept pretty good. I'm trying not to let being in a cast stop me from doing a lot. <I have had a lot of help>. We all had a very nice Christmas.
I was home alone all day on the 23rd, that was tough, only becuase I had a tough time getting anything to eat or drink. I had to settle for just ordering a pizza, which is against the diet I'm trying to stick with, but better than starving. Bottles of water fit nicely in my pockets so I can get them filled when neceessary to get around.
I am still going to say, this is not as hard as I expected. I go back to work on the 26th...I will update after the first day of work is over...1 week after surgery, back to the office :-)
