Status Update: Physical Therapy

Posted 05-22-2012 at 09:54 PM by planemark

I am 11 weeks post op now, and I am slowly progressing in the healing process. I had a fiberglass cast on for 7 weeks and then I was put in a boot with a flexible base. After my cast was off I was approved to start physical therapy still non weight bearing. It hurt so bad to start moving my foot with gentle stretching exercises. At first it felt like I had a Frankenstein foot or something.
Once my heel had healed up enough at 9 weeks post op, I was cleared to partial weight bear. It really...

Stage 3 posterior tibeal Tendonitis: Day of Surgerry

My pain eased up for a short time after being in the boot, but it quickly returned after I returned to normal activity in my regular shoes. Nothing helped, PT or the orthotics. I was even in tears during PT if I did too much. The original OS ignored my complaints...

Posterior Tibial Tendonitis: FDL tendon transfer surgery and Osteotomy

Posted 03-26-2012 at 09:29 AM by planemark

I am an airline employee and I fell 10 feet out of the back of my airline catering truck in November 2010. I ended up landing upright on my left leg and my right leg was wrapped around the bumper of the truck. I had multiple injuries. I pinched the labrum (inner lining of my hip socket), I injured my l3 l4 and l5 vertebra and got pars syndrome, and I tore my posterior tibeal tendon. Originally I was only being treated fo the hip problem, and when they did all they could for that I had to fight workers...
