I left off at the end of April, with a shoulder injury and an inbound child.

In May my family and I went on vacation. Nine days, 2,000 miles from home, with my mom, my brother, my pregnant wife, and our almost 3 year old. Sounds relaxing right? It was kind of a hectic vacation, however that did not stop when we got home.

So I got the MRI results on my shoulder. Being the nerd I am I went and picked up the films and report so I could look at them before my doctor.

One thing I remember from other MRIs I have had is that there are a lot of $5 words thrown in there that really don't need to be. Not sure if they do this to discourage people like me from reading my own reports, but I think they could try and dumb it down just a tad. I will give some examples...

We asked them to not share this information publicly. Especially on a certain social networking site. My dad is on there a lot, so I wanted to prevent him from finding out that way. Easy enough right?

Well when you work at a company with 5,700 employees, three of which include obviously myself, my mom, and my only sibling, word...

So another moment, like a week or so ago... See the Six words blog.

There, now you know what I mean by another moment like that. This time it was a simple e-mail asking if I thought she needed to go. The e-mail came while I was at lunch, I responded when I got back... no answer. So I call. No answer. Wait a few minutes and call again. No answer. This is the point where my brain starts to hit the afterburners. Did it get worse? Is she unconcious? Bleeding out? Do I need...
