Tonsillectomy Recovery

Posted 06-19-2016 04:37 PM by Kaceyn1266

Hello Everyone! I am on day 5 of my tonsil recovery process and it has been anything BUT easy. Days 1-3 were a breeze compared to how I have been feeling recently. On day 3 I hit my hunger peak and could not take it anymore. I force ate mashed potatoes and wonton soup which tasted absolutely amazing. I certainly paid for that on day 4 when I had intense neck and jaw pain and my tongue was extremely swollen. I have also developed Oral Thrush which causes tongue pain and a white film all across the...

Posted 06-15-2016 04:41 PM by Kaceyn1266

Okay part two from my last blog continued.... Day 1- feeling or fear of choking on uvula. Feels scratchey like sandpaper. Gagging. Occasionally. Did not take birth control cannot swallow anything but water and anything frozen. Sleep during the day was tough. Could not get comfortable and body would wake me up gagging on the swollen tongue and throat. Strange ear pain I cannot explain when swallowing water. Felt like a needle poking me but had to drink. Eventually slept every 30 mins through the...

So, here's my story about how my experience was before and after the surgery! I got there early in the morning around 6:45, and they had me do routine paperwork and waited until they called me back to take my vitals. They make you pee before hand, which is difficult since you have to stop drinking after midnight....

Tonsillectomy Recovery :)

Posted 07-11-2013 03:56 PM by niccog26

On 4th July 2013 I had a tonsillectomy, at age 34! I wanted to write this blog to show that if you follow what the doctors tell you the recovery is much faster and not as terrible as the ‘horror stories’ make out. After all you only find the worst case scenario when you search online, who really posts a success story, right?!

In June 2012 I started with what I thought was a common sore throat. It lasted months and after numerous ENT and doctors’ appointments I was diagnosed with Glandular...

Days 14-16, Last Tonsillectomy Blog

Posted 06-27-2012 06:30 AM by Apache Kristy

Days 14 thru 16. and I think that this will be the last entry about my tonsillectomy unless something happens (and i hope nothing does lol).
Eating is almost completely back to normal, except with pizza sauces and ketchup and the like, as it does sting a little too much for comfort. I probably will never touch sherert, pop sickles or slushies ever again for as long as i live. I am back up to normal as best I can I think, so there's not much to write. There is, however, one small detail that...
