Tonsillectomy Recovery :)

On 4th July 2013 I had a tonsillectomy, at age 34! I wanted to write this blog to show that if you follow what the doctors tell you the recovery is much faster and not as terrible as the ‘horror stories’ make out. Days 14-16, Last Tonsillectomy Blog

Days 14 thru 16. and I think that this will be the last entry about my tonsillectomy unless something happens (and i hope nothing does lol).
Eating is almost completely back to normal, except with pizza sauces and ketchup and the like, as it does sting a little too much for comfort. Days 11-13. Sorry I havent posted lately, (not that anyone's reading anyway lol) but past few days have been pretty good. Its still pretty tender to eat certain foods, but at least im eating. I got really really sick of potatoes and pop sickles and mac & cheese now, to the point that i dont want to even see them anymore. So my bf got me a steak & cheese, which surprisingly worked very well. I havent had any of the medication today because if figured 'hey, if it doesnt hurt, why add more...

DAY 9&10

Days 9 & 10, feelin good! Still taking the meds on time and pushin fluids (especially now that its 92F Degrees!) but im able to eat a soft Apple Turnover and some rolls and soft breads. I found that really moist Banana Bread worked really good and was very tasty, definatly a change! lol The scabs from my re-cauterizing are still black-ish, havent turned cream still. But its alright, give it time i think. when i went in for the re-cauterizing, the surgeon took all of the loose and old scabbing...

DAY 8. and i feel fantastic! honestly lol, no sarcasm intended lol. after that recent re-op where they fixed the bleeding in my throat, ive felt better these past two days than i have ALL WEEK. i can talk, i can swallow comfortably, its been great!
