i have two blood clots, one in each leg. i was wondering anyone out there has them and what do they do.

Hello Robram, Sorry about your blood clots, they can
be a pain. I have had Thrombosis (blood clots)in both
legs, also blood clots on the lungs.In my case, for
the legs I was made to have complete bed rest and then
I was prescribed Warfarin, the doses can be from
10-3 milli gram per day, this is ajusted depending on
a INR blood test, these were taken every alternate day
initially, but soon settled down to weekly, and then
alternate weeks. Regarding the blood clots on the lung,
I was admitted to Hospital for tests etc. and was
prescribed Heparin injections into the abdomen, these
lasted for 10 days. After a short time things settled
back to normal. Trusting this may be of interest, but

cedric; thanks for the reply, just wondering if you still have the clots. i will always have mine i believe, i take warfarin 10mgs daily with blood test each month. i had a near death experience and that was one of the problems left behind. rob

I have also had blood clots in the leg and also blocked arteries caused by lupus anticoagulant syndrome.I was given fragmin injections for a while then switched to coumadine.Ending up having bypass surgery in my leg.Hope you were diagnosed early.I was misdiagnosed for a long time.I have rheumatoid arthritis and dr's were blaming that for my pain!!Pretty scary when they tell you it is a blood clot.Hope they have found a cause for you so you can do some preventive medicine.

I have had PVD for going on 7 years now and have had over 200 blood clots in my leg (r), had heart attack, arterial bypass surgery, hysterectomy, 2 strokes, angioplasty in my right leg and all this due to an unknown disease called peripheral vascular disease. How I contacted it is anyones guess. All I know is that it has damaged my body and organs so much because of the clotting that when they opened my jup to do the artial bypass they doctors were amazed to see I have the organs of a 80 year old woman and have given me 4 years to live. I am only 38. I have since went on disibility because I can't stand nor sit for prolonged periods of time due to formations of blood clots. I am on Coumadin and have PT/INRs done every week. I have to have my INRs at a 3.0 - 3.5 or I am in danger of getting a clot. We should start a support system for people that suffer from this disease. Not many people do and I was sure surprised to see this suobject on the message board. To anyone out there that has further info on what their docs have found out about the disease, contact me, I would love to hear from you. Love, life and prosperity.
