Swelling and discomfort under lower part of rib cage on left hand side - Blood and Blood Vessel Message Board

For the past year or so I have been experiencing pain on my left side just at the lower part of my rib cage. It feels at times like it is swelling and I do have to lay down.Can anyone relate to this, I have no idea what it is as my gall bladder is one the other side. Thanks, Have a great day. Donna

Hi. I was just reading about the role of the pancreas in relation to blood platelets and they discribed pain and swelling in same area that you described for a painful and swollen pancreas. I'd sure get that checked out if I were you.

i have the same thing with me,i saw my dr. bit he wastn to concerned over it and now it feels like it is going to explode..any ideas?
