Re: still no answers

Susan,

Welcome to the board! A couple of questions...What was the blood disorder you had as a child? What are your counts now? It is hard to even guess without more info. What tests have been run? What is your doc saying at this point?

Zoe

Re: still no answers

hi all i can remember is it had something to do with my platlets. i had meales that went into my bloodstream instead of them coming out on to my skin. my parents first noticed it because i had bruieses all over me. like i had been beat. and i remember they took some bone marrow. my parents called it a blood platelet disorder. i was 7 at the time. and i remember mom saying that when i was born i was border/line leukemic. i have just been curious because i wondered if it has anything to do with my low iron i stay anemic my levels are usually betwen 11 to 14 on my iron i take hemocyte plus from my doc. every day. i really dont know my blood counts i guess im not much help. my doc. told me but i dont remember my blood counts. i remember i had to be kept in the dark in my rm. in the hospital. thanks susan kay

Re: still no answers

I was kept in the dark in a room too with measles. I was told by my grandmother I could go blind but I always thought that was a old wives tale lol. Anyway about your problem...you need to speak to your doctor hun. There is so many blood disorders out there and other factors that affect the blood which are not blood disease's that's its very difficult to say for definite what's wrong with you.

But your doctor will know. It will be in your notes. Ring up your sugery and say you want to speak to your doctor and find out exactly what's wrong with you...what type of blood problem you have. If your doctor wont tell you then get a referral to your hematologist and change doctors. I'm suprised your doctor never told you about your blood disoder but mines the same, they never mention by blood disease until I go "i cant take that I'll be at risk of clots!". Doc huh? Anyway good luck and all the best.
