low hemogloblin, low hematocrit and high transferrin saturation

Hi:

I am a female aged 50 years old. I just had some blood tests done and it shows a low hemoglobin of 11.5, low hematocrit of 34 and a high transferrin saturation of 55. My iron is normal at 143. Could you explain why the transferrin saturation level is high. Thanks.
