I fell down the stairs while on blood thinners

I fell down the stairs while on blood thinners. I hit my back and head pretty hard and now as I type I have a thick dark purple lump forming just above my left elbow (i must have hit this too). What should I do? I am very sore and moving slowly because of the back pain, but I am hesitant to go to the hospital b/c I am home alone with my 2 year old. If it is just bruising, what is the point in going to the ER?
