I noticed a red streak going up my entire forearm on Friday. Then another on Saturday. Both starting from my wrist area. Looks like my veins. I did not have any open sores or any indication of a bite. It seems to be disipating a bit. But I was in Mexico last week and came back on Tuesday night. Should I be worried?
It could be tetanus. Have you had a vaccine in the last 10 years? 8 if you received a cut or puncture wound, or animal bite? The red streak is a classic sign of blood poisoning, a.k.a. tetanus You just might want to see a doctor. I would.
Call the ER if you haven't already seen a dr. You are describing blood poisoning in my experience. My son one night years ago showed me a little sore on his foot like a calius. I kind of blew him off. He then showed me a red streak up his leg. I knew what that meant. I called the ER and they said to get him over there right away. The dr put him on antibiotics and said if I had waited another day it would have spread to his groin and he would be in the hospital on an IV.
