Re: Iron low and platelet count high
an increase from 483 to 528 is really not that big of a jump - your body could have that range in one day as platelet counts range during the day. I have ITP which is a problem with low platelets, but I had my spleen out and now my platelets range from the high 300's to 800's. An increased WBC count with an elevated platelet count could indicate an infection. A higher platelet count in and of itself won't hurt anything, and chances are they'll go down on your own. You could have a sinus infection or some infection that's driving everything up.
My hema doesn't worry unless my platelets go up to 800's and stay there.
Don't worry! Take care of yourself and get rest. I bet you'll be fine.
