| Blood and rheum issues
I have been IgA deficient for at least 20 years. I started getting B12 shots and went off Plaquenil when my red blood cell and hematocrit counts dropped and the RBC size began running up.
After a few months the IgA, HCT and RBCs normalized but IgG Subgroup 1 dropped, my CTD has acted up and RBC size keeps increasing (presently at 108 fl). I now have significant and increasing swelling, pain and redness and in my fingers, hands, feet and ankles, Raynaud's and shoulder weakness. The rheumatologist calls it Sjogren's but I don't have the classic dryness the diagnosis requires or any measurable autoantibodies.
Now the hematologist wants a marrow aspiration and biopsy before they restart the Plaquenil. Can anyone offer any insight, eg, CVID, megaloblastic anemia, undifferentialed CTD, MDS, Sjogren's? Any help would be appreciated.
