mcv and mch elevated referred to a hemotologist

I am a 42 year old female. Just got my blood work results and was told that my red blood cell size is elevated. MCV 102.0 MCH 35.2. I did the blood test twice to confirm results. Doctor ruled out b12 deficiency and hyperthyroidism. He said it could be bone marrow disease or mleodysplastic disease and has referred me to a hemotologist, which I will be seeing next week. I am terrified. I am the mother of a 2 and 4 year old that need me to be around. Can this be something minor. The above possibilities that my doctor mentioned are very scary. I been reading everything on the internet and have been even more afraid. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this. Please help me. Thank you!

Re: mcv and mch elevated referred to a hemotologist

My husband had the high mcv and mch also. He was diagnosed with hemolytic anemia. He finally had his spleen removed and has been doing well for several years. Hopefully you will get in to see the hemotologist soon for answers. Good luck
