Blood viscosity question

Hi,

My doc has just run some blood tests on me and discovered that my viscosity test result is abnormal. I have no other information until I can see the doc next week to discuss but i'm wondering if anyone on these boards knows anything about it?

I have IBS & was disagnosed with an underactive thyroid last summer. I've recently been suffering from night sweats, a very sore neck, trouble sleeping and extreme fatigue. My thyroid levels are normal and this is why my doc tested for CRP and viscosity (CRP was normal).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hyperviscocity is "thick blood". Could be a number of things from high fat diet to cancer. Did your doctor do other blood tests such as a CBC? Thick blood is not in itself a diagnosis.

Re: Blood viscosity question

I've now found out that I also have low estrogen levels so am being referred to a specialist.

My doc seemed a bit confused by my symptoms and results so am hoping that the specialist will be able to figure it all out.
