high hemoglobin and vitamin B12 deficiency

I'm a 53 year old male who has high hemoglobin. My recent bloodwork came back with my hemoglobin at 19.3 and my hematocrit at 60.1. I donate blood as often as I'm allowed. My doctor also says that my B12 is low and wants me to take a sublingual B12 tablet. I thought a high hemoglobin meant you have too much iron and a low B12 means you don't have enough iron. How can I have both or am I wrong? My doctor wants me to get with a specialist to see what's going on. I also snore when I sleep on my side and even catch myself snoring when I'm not even fully asleep. I was tested for sleep apnea and it came back negative. Could this have something to do with my high hemoglobin?

Re: high hemoglobin and vitamin B12 deficiency

I too have the same issue. I have a diagnosis of pernicious anaemia, parietal cell positive. I receive injections. A recent blood test revealed a high haemoglobin. I have to have the test repeated. I do not understand how this can be.
