White cell count
Okay, I might sound like an alarmist here but if so, please tell me!
I have noticed over the past couple years my white count is always around 8. The past six months it has become lower... one reading was 6, another 6.2.
Well, on Thursday I developed a HORRIFIC virus of some sort that caused a gastroenteritis. I went to the doctor Friday morning after the worst part of the diarrhea was over as well as fever, etc.
He ran a CBC and Metabolic Panel. Everything was normal. But I noticed my white count was a little low normal, and lower than it's ever been:
WBC 4.8 (4.0 - 11.0 10e 9/L)
1. Can a bout with gastroenteritis temporarily lower it?
2. Could I have a condition that is SLOWLY dropping my white blood count?
