leg veins
Recently I have noticed the veins in the back of my leg by the calf muscle are showing. I had some sharp pains in my leg a year or so ago but it went away then a few months ago it looked like a few veins on my calf were bulging out. Any ideas? I seem to not have any issues at this time with the leg in question but curious what it could be. I am 49 yrs old and not sure if it is just an age related issue!

Hi is there any redness or warmth? Sharp pains are sometimes an indication of a serious thrombophlebitis. Swollen veins are sometimes called varicose veins. One can ask a health professional if they have something serious and get a proper diagnosis. Sometimes people have a cellulitis with a hard reddened area and warmth a dangerous condition also.

No warmth or redness or pain. I did have an occasion or two a year or so ago where i felt like I was stung by a bee in my calf area. The pain came and went quicly like I was jabbed with a needle or stung. Now I have like 2 veins that look a little bulged on my calf. I have no pain in my legs even during exercise. Just looks a little odd!
