| vein problems? or something else?
I've been having inner thigh pain for over a year....and now calf pain for about 3 months.
Two docs basically said my thigh pain was of no concern. They both said "if I had a clot, I'd know it." So, I got fed up and scheduled myself with a vein specialist. She looked at my legs and could find no reason to suspect any problem whatsoever...that was vein related anyway. She suggested perhaps I see a orthopedist and that maybe it was a pinched nerve or pulled muscle. It's definitely not a pulled muscle...I know that much.
Then I started getting calf pain in some of the visible veins at the front of my calf. They're not bulging, but feel a little sore once in a while. (I have very fair skin and most of my superficial veins are visible so the visibility isn't a factor for me.) So, I went back to my primary care doc. Said she could still find no reason to believe there was anything serious, but she ordered an ultrasound anyway.
The ultrasound turned up no clot....but no one can explain this thigh pain and vein pain. Neither the thigh or calf veins hurt all the time--only occasionally. Sometimes a pinching. Sometimes a throbbing. Sometimes It hurts when I cross my legs and "crush" my thigh....sometimes it doesn't.
There's nothing visible at my thigh. My calf veins look a little zig-zag-ish, but are not raised at all.
I'm not sure where to go from here. Every doc I turn to says I'm fine but no one will tell me why I have pain. The pain isn't terrible...only annoying and I could live with it, if I just knew what the cause was.
Does anyone have any experience with anything that started like this? Or...I've read about all the scary stuff...does anyone know of any issues "of no concern" that cause this type of pain?
thanks in advance.
