CBC results - RDW Way high, all else in range
 

Hi!

Does anybody know what a high rdw, with all else on the cbc normal, means? I know it means a lot of variation in size of red blood cells, but what are the implications for my health, possible causes/effects/treatments? Does anybody know?

(I've always had good iron levels, and though I haven't had them checked recently, suspect they are fine now too and it's not anemia....)

It can be a first indicator of many issues.
Certain kidney disorders
pernicious anemia
Certain autoimmune diseases
And the list goes on.

Have you had a full nutritional panel done? and a full rheumatological workup?

Hi.I just wondering what your hematicrit (HTC) level is.Should be between 37 & 42 for female.
