hi

i have had low RBC for a while - always on the lower border range, until couple of months ago, when it fell below the normal range. it is 3.97

I have always had normal WBC - until couple of months ago, when it fell below the normal range. it is 3.5

platelets have been around 180 and stayed consistent.

My GP is puzzled, i think, - his words were "your bloods fell, but luckily, platelets have stayed the same" i want to refer you to hemotologist to get a second opinion.

i'm currently waiting for hematologist to call me for an appointment. in the meantime, what do u think i might have.

i feel dizzy, light headed. also need to go to wsshrom often. - maybe every hr.

low wbc is a new thing for me, and i googled internet and it does not sound pretty.

could even AIDS be possible in my case?

just got an appointment with hematologist for Nov 1!
3 months from now on.
i could be dead by then!

so, what i have is not so common? =

low rbc 3.97 (4.5-6.5), low wbc 3.5 (4.0-11.0)
platelet 180 (150-400)

i have light headedness, dizziness, general feeling of unwell.

anybody familiar with this condition?

I may have posted previously to you, but lupus can cause both red and white cells to be low, and certainly makes one feel not well. If you have a more complete blood count to post it might help, or any other labs. If you can't see the hematologist for 3 months, perhaps your Dr. would at least do an ANA, sed rate, CRP, chemistry panel, and urine on you in the meantime to look for any other signs or clues. Viruses can cause low WBC, inc. HIV. I would ask to get a screen if you have risk factors. It would help too to know the MCV on your blood count to give a clue as to what type anemia you might have.
