I've noticed this for a few years now...my ankles have a reddish-purple tint to them, as if they have been badly bruised, but they aren't. There is no pain in my ankles, but while the skin on my feet is perfectly soft, the skin on my ankles is calloused and hard.
What is making my ankles look like this? Could it be because I am overweight? (height: 5' 4.75" weight: 143 lbs. age: 16)
Maybe since you are overweight, you tend to put more weight on your ankles and that might have cause the blood vessels to leak blood out. But the leakage isn't a big problem unless you have clotting disorders. It is more common in elderly and those who do sports very often. But if you don't feel secure, maybe you cold ask your PCP about it.
You are 64 Inches tall, and average weight for a woman of your height is 114 to 152 pounds depending on bone structure. Also, if you have alot of muscle mass, you will be heavier, because muscle is denser and heavier than adipose tissue (fat).
