Bone in Wrist Popped while bending it backwards.

Hi everyone, Im new here so bare with me if I made a mistake. I was bending my hand backwards when I felt a pop. Theres a protruding bone that looks like a mosquito bite below my thumb on my wrist now. There's no pain only a slight discomfort and a pulling sensation whenever i bend my hand. Its driving me nuts, yet im not sure if its just dislocated or if its serious. I started a new job so Im trying to avoid going to a hospital since my insurance hasn't kicked in yet. Anyone experiance this before?

Is the 'bump' still there when you return your wrist back to the normal position? Does it hurt? Usually a dislocation will cause a lot or a little pain. Are you loose-jointed? Maybe the ligaments or tendons move away from that bone? I really got no clue though, but thought I could contribute my 2 cents. Have you seen your GP? Good luck!

I honestly don't think that your wrist is dislocated, because dislocations are very painful. Trust me. My joints are very hypermobile, and I've had plenty of dislocations in my lifetime. I think that you may have just subluxated one of the bones in your wrist. I know when i have a subluxation in my wrist because there's a feeling of discomfort, not painful or anything. I can usually play with it (pulling my hand away from my arm and moving it around) until the wrist feels better. Though, it probably isn't a good thing to do it, but hey..it works! If not...my chiropracter adjusts it for me. I guess if the bump and "feeling" doesnt go away..call a doctors office, explain the situation with you having no insurance, and they will usually work out a payment plan.

Hi,
I'm not sure if I've actually been diagnosed with it or not. I know that we brought it up to my pediatrician, and he was like yea, she's hypermobile, but she'll probably grow out of it that was about a year ago. My chiropracter also said that my joints are hypermobile. I really don't think we've gone as far to get a diagnosis or not.

Re: Bone in Wrist Popped while bending it backwards.

I came in kinda late on the discussion, sorry. But I have been diagnosed with a hypermobility disorder. Thankfully not Ehler-Danlos which is similar to Marfans, but got the hypermobility syndrome. I can sublux and dislocate pretty much any joint on demand. Especially the larger ones, my shoulders, elbows, patellas (had floating patellas as a child), ankle (well only one now after surgeries), my thumbs, finger you name it. But I don't have it super bad and I don't have the genetic kind. I got diagnosed by a geneticist. It can be extremely helpful if you get the diagnosis and have physical problems, because then doctors can choose the best care.. Just a few words I guess on the hypermobility thing, lol.
