Re: hole in bone?

Melissa,
YOU are the best advocate when it comes to your child. And remember that a doctor would be not much of a doctor not to pursue things when the mom has concerns.
I would think that if you talked to this young small town doctor about what you have learned on here - then he would surely would be willing to go to the next level with you.
I think that any spot on an xray needs to be investigated further (benign tumors are much more frequent that you think and usually doesn't require surgery). Try not to be scared in front of your son though - I know that's easy coming for someone you don't know. But remember - there are moms out here who have dealt with similar issues as yourself and we remember the scary time. But he really needs your reassurance that everything is ok, but that this needs to be checked out further.
I would suggest an MRI first. Is there a larger hospital in the vicinity that might be able to do this? Also an orthopedic doctor would be available there as well. You could take a copy of your son's xrays to them to review and they would determine the best route to take from there.
Wishing you all the best in the world!
Post back and let us know what happens and how you and your son are doing.

Re: hole in bone?

Thinking of you today.
Let us know what's happened the last couple of weeks.
Did the radiologist show and read the xrays?
Have you relocated yet? Found a new doc - hopefully an orthopedic?
Post soon and let us know how your son is doing?
