Hi-
I hope you see this...I see that no one has replied yet and it's been over a month since you posted.
I had severe Frozen Shoulder Syndrome (diagnosed after Xrays showed no pathology or damage).
I had practically zero range of motion (Left shoulder/arm).
First just tried Celebrex and a "wait and see" approach.
But it just got worse.
Cortisone injection into the site produce zero improvement.
Soooo, ended up having physical therapy 3Xs a week for 8 weeks and it was AMAZING.
It's slow going at first and painful...but those PTs know what they're doing. They know just how far to push you even with all your protests and moaning and groaning and "ow"ing!
They also give you "homework" to do at home in bewteen sessions, which, if you do vigilently, speed the healing process up.
As I progressed, I only needed Advil and slowly, less and less of even that.
I now have FULL pain-free range of motion, but even after the 8 weeks of PT, it did take a year for my arm to really feel 100% back to normal. I was using it etc. but found myself still guarding it a bit for months.
Now I don't have any problems whatsoever.
Surgery is usually reserved for real damage, like rotator cuff "tears" etc. which I didn't have, thank goodness and I presume that you don't either or your doc wouldn't have called it "syndrome"!
Best of luck,
zuzu xxx
